Today's local action took place at Al Islam Junior High School in Semarang City, Central Java Province, Indonesia. On Monday, 7 July, we began the "Peace Across The Sea" online training course with the first webinar, which focused on Peace education. Through the course, participants from Australia and Indonesia will learn more about the SCI (Service Civil International) approach to Peace work, conflict resolution, project management, and project coordination. The project
The aim of “Peace Across The Sea” (PATS) is to equip 20 young activists from Australia and Indonesia with skills in project coordination, leadership and conflict resolution to be applied to grassroots projects. The project will consist of two phases, which will combine theory with practice:
An online training course focused on conflict resolution, nonviolent communication, leadership and project coordination;
After the training course, the participants will take part in short-term voluntary activities in Australia and Indonesia, choosing among different roles and tasks, which will be adapted to participants’ needs, availability and preferences.
